It should be somewhere you feel safe, supported, and genuinely at home. At Myxa, every SIL home is backed by the same structured systems, trained teams, and clear leadership, whether your support needs are standard or high intensity.
We support participants living with intellectual disability, physical disability, psychosocial disability, behaviours of concern, dual diagnosis, forensic histories, and those who have experienced placement breakdowns. Our systems are built to manage complexity in service delivery, so our teams can focus on you.
What makes challenging situations manageable is the full system working together:
No single element does it alone. The system does.
Every Myxa SIL home operates under the Myxa Framework: an integrated system of personalised planning, structured leadership, specialist staff training, and continuous improvement.
Your support workers are matched to your support needs and trained specifically for your support plan. Where possible, we maintain consistent teams so you are supported by people who know you.
Every SIL home has dedicated leadership responsible for quality, safety, and the day-to-day running of your support.
Whether your support needs are stable or shifting, the same Framework applies. We plan for where you are now and adjust when things change.
Quality housing in Melbourne and Bendigo. Your home, your routines, your choices about how you live.
For participants transitioning from hospital who are eligible for SIL, Medium Term Accommodation (MTA) may be available as NDIS-funded bridge accommodation while a permanent SIL placement is being arranged. MTA requires separate NDIS approval. Your support coordinator can guide this process.
If you are placing a participant in Supported Independent Living, here is what you need to know about working with Myxa.
SIL (Supported Independent Living) funds the support you receive: the team, the daily assistance, the overnight support. SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) funds the physical housing. They are separate NDIS funding streams. You may have one or both. Myxa provides SIL support services and works with trusted SDA partners to match you with the right home.
