Tell us about your professional career journey with Myxa?
I joined Myxa in its early days as a Rostering Intake Coordinator, at a time when the corporate team was still small and SIL Managers and State Managers had not yet been appointed. Back then, I managed a wide range of responsibilities on my own, with limited support from a few colleagues. I feel incredibly grateful to have witnessed the organisation’s growth and transformation into what it is today.
Over time, I’ve contributed to shaping many of our internal processes and practices, continuously learning and evolving with the organisation. After two years in my initial role, I transitioned into the position of Executive Assistant to the COO. This role gave me invaluable exposure to the broader workings of the company and allowed me to deepen my understanding of daily operations while supporting Myxa’s growth through focused, hands-on contributions.
Most recently, about a month ago, I stepped into the role of Senior Accounts Officer. Thanks to my previous experience in finance, I’ve found great enjoyment in managing billing, processing PPT invoices, and assisting with payroll. This position has further strengthened my skillset and expanded my appreciation for the financial side of the business.
It’s truly been an amazing journey, and I’m proud to be part of such a strong, dedicated, and evolving team at Myxa.
Can you walk us through a typical day as the (insert role here)?
As a Senior Accounts Officer at Myxa, my day usually starts with checking and processing invoices, especially for PPT services. I make sure everything matches our records and that billing is accurate.
I also help with payroll—checking timesheets, making sure staff get paid correctly, and answering any pay-related questions. Throughout the day, I update spreadsheets, respond to emails, and support the team with any finance-related tasks.
Because I’ve worked in different roles at Myxa, I also help connect different departments and make sure things run smoothly. It’s a busy role, but I enjoy it and feel proud to support the company’s growth.
What do you love about working at Myxa?
What I love most about working at Myxa is being part of a team that’s supportive and always growing. I’ve seen the organisation develop from the early days, and it’s been really rewarding to grow alongside it.
I enjoy the variety in my work and the chance to learn new things in each role I’ve taken on. Myxa has given me the opportunity to be involved in different areas—from rostering to executive support to accounts—which has helped me build my skills and feel more connected to the company.
Most of all, I love knowing that the work I do helps make a positive impact on people’s lives.
Can you share a specific instance where your work made a positive impact on Myxa or a participant?
One time, when I was working as a Rostering Intake Coordinator, I helped set up support quickly for a new participant. Their family was really stressed, so getting everything organised on time made a big difference. It felt great to know I helped them get the care they needed without delays.
In my current role as a Senior Accounts Officer, I noticed a billing mistake that could have led to overcharging. I fixed it and helped update the process so it wouldn’t happen again. It’s nice to know my work helps both the team and the participants.
