Frequently Asked Questions

Supported Independent Living (SIL): SIL is providing support services to assist individuals to live independently regardless of whether it's shared or their own independent living arrangement. SIL Services can include assistance with cooking, cleaning, personal care, medication management, budgeting and social interaction. The funding for SIL falls under core supports in your NDIS plan and is determined by your individual support requirements.  Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA): SDA is providing specialised housing tailored to meet the unique support needs of individuals with disabilities. The building must have specific design features and modifications to cater to the participant's individual needs such as wider doorways, stepless showers, safety windows, adjustable bench tops, infrastructure for a ceiling hoist or life support systems depending on the SDA category.
