Multiple locations across metropolitan and regional Victoria and Queensland.   

As a Disability Support Worker, you will provide high quality care and support services to persons living with disability. Support services may include community access, social support and support with daily living tasks including personal care and domestic assistance. There are a variety of shifts available, including morning, afternoon and night.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high quality care and support services in accordance with the participants care plan
  • Support participants to achieve their goals and live a full life
  • Maintain the highest quality of care and support to participants while encouraging the participants independence
  • Record clear and accurate case notes
  • Report, and follow up on any incidents
Qualifications
  • Relevant qualification and/or experience
  • Experience providing care for people with complex needs

Myxa is seeking an Experienced Disability Support Worker to join our team in Wonthaggi, Victoria.
This is a casual position, providing flexible work arrangements to support our clients with a range of disability support services.
 
As an Experienced Disability Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in empowering individuals with disabilities to live independently and achieve their personal goals. 
 
Responsibilities
  • Providing personalised support and assistance to clients with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation and community access
  • Collaborating with clients, families and other care professionals to develop and implement individualised support plans.
  • Facilitating social and recreational activities to promote client wellbeing and community inclusion
  • Maintaining detailed client records and documentation to ensure high-quality service delivery
  • Advocating for client rights and ensuring a safe, supportive and inclusive environment
  • Participating in ongoing training and professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge
Qualifications
  • Significant experience (minimum 2 years) providing disability support services in a SIL setting
  • Experienced in working with clients with challenging behaviours
  • Demonstrated understanding of person-centred approaches and the ability to empower clients to achieve their goals
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and work collaboratively with clients, families and other stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to changing client needs
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Certificate III or IV in Individual Support (Disability) or equivalent
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends and public holidays, to meet the needs of our clients

  • A Certificate III or IV in Disability or Relevant Field (not a requirement for all positions)
