Allan, congratulations on being named Employee of the Month! Can you tell us a bit about your experience at Myxa?

Thank you! I’ve been with Myxa for eight months now, and it’s been a fantastic experience. The team is supportive, and the work is incredibly rewarding. I love being able to make a positive difference in the lives of our participants.

What drew you to the field of disability support work?

I’ve always had a passion for helping others. I have been working in the field of support work for just over 3 years now. I find it incredibly fulfilling to be able to provide support and care to individuals with disabilities. It’s a challenging but rewarding role.

What makes Myxa a great place to work?

I appreciate the flexibility that Myxa offers in terms of rostering. It allows me to balance my work and personal life effectively. Additionally, the team is always there to support and encourage each other, which creates a positive and supportive work environment.

What advice would you give to someone considering a career in disability support work?

If you’re passionate about helping others and enjoy working with people, I’d highly recommend it. One of the great things about this field is the flexibility it offers. Whether you’re balancing family commitments or pursuing further studies, rostering is very accommodating finding you shifts that works with your schedule.
