Myxa is fortunate to have a dedicated team working behind the scenes to ensure our participants and staff have everything they need. Today, we chat with Tabbatha Koralege, our Administration Coordinator, about her experience at Myxa and her passion for keeping things running smoothly.
Tab: My adventure began in early 2022 when I joined the team as the first administration employee at Myxa. My professional background includes over 20 years’ experience working in office management, particularly within the healthcare field. This knowledge in medical administration allows me to provide an excellent standard of service and high-quality support to participants, staff, and leadership. Throughout my Myxa journey, I have worked in several capacities. I first joined as an Administration Assistant and was then promoted to Administration Coordinator within the first six months of my employment. In my current role, I am responsible for overseeing the administration function within the organisation. Myxa has provided me many opportunities for professional development throughout my tenure. I have completed extensive training in SharePoint, which provided me the skills and knowledge to create and develop many platforms including the company intranet and team sites. Additionally, I am currently undertaking further studies in Quality & Compliance to further develop my skills as I am passionate about continuously improving quality standards and ensuring compliance within our organisation. It’s been incredible to see the company grow, and I’m proud to have been a part of that journey.
Tab: There’s definitely no such thing as a typical day at Myxa, which is what I enjoy and keeps things interesting! My role involves a lot of variety, from overseeing the work of my fantastic team (including 3 administration staff and 1 IT staff) to providing support for the daily operations of the organisation. We handle a wide range of requests, anywhere from 140 to 200 per month, on top of our core duties. This could involve managing participant and personnel information, responding to and directing incoming calls and emails, administration reporting, create and format company documents, participant and lead projects, organise and plan staff events, updating and maintaining IT systems, internal auditing…..the list goes on! The administration team work collaboratively to ensure high quality service delivery and overall provide support to our fantastic Myxa team.
Tab: The most rewarding aspect of working at Myxa is the feeling that you’re truly making a positive difference. We work with amazing participants, and it’s inspiring to see the dedication and passion everyone at Myxa brings to their roles. The team environment is also fantastic – everyone is supportive and shows consideration for each other. I see this daily within my direct team, and I enjoy fostering a positive culture which allows everyone to express their feelings, ideas and contribute to the overall success of our department.
Tab: There have been many instances where our administrative team’s work has made a difference. Once, a participant had a complex inquiry regarding their NDIS plan. Through careful research and collaboration with other departments, we were able to navigate the situation and ensure the participant received the support they deserved. Seeing the relief and appreciation on their face was incredibly rewarding. Additionally, the support we provide to other departments within the organisation makes an incredible impact. We regularly receive positive feedback from staff expressing how grateful they are in having such a supportive administration team they can rely on.
