At Myxa Manor, we understand the unique additional challenges faced by individuals with bariatric needs when seeking accessible living options. To accommodate this need, we have specifically designed and transformed two of our available apartments which are conveniently located opposite each other, into a custom safe and accessible living space.
Wider Entryways: All the entrance doorways including the ensuite bathroom were widened from 820mm to 1200mm. This modification allows for easier access and manoeuvrability.
Durable and Easy-to-Maintain Flooring: Both rooms were outfitted with quality hybrid flooring. This material is not only aesthetically pleasing but also slip-resistant and is easy to manoeuvre a wheelchair on, promoting safety and functionality.
Open Floor Plan: One room is being used as a separate living space and the other as the bedroom and ensuite. The living area has been transformed into an open-plan space with a fully functional kitchenette installed providing the participant with the convenience of preparing meals and snacks at their own comfort.
What a view: Beyond the functional modifications, the thoughtfully designed space boasts a stunning view of the city skyline, offering a connection to the surrounding environment.
Reconfiguration of Ensuite: The ensuite layout was changed to allow maximum use of space and easy access to the shower and sink.
