Core Support (formerly Disability Support Work (DSW)) covers in-home and community support funded under your NDIS plan. It includes daily living tasks, community participation, and skill-building, delivered by trained Core Support Workers who implement your Support Plan. If you previously worked with Myxa under our Disability Support Work (DSW) service, Core Support is the same service under its current name.
Four structural features that shape how every Core Support service at Myxa operates, regardless of intensity level or complexity.
Staffing consistency is one of the most important factors in effective disability support. Myxa uses a dedicated Centralised Rostering Team to match participants with the right Core Support Workers based on skill, experience, and compatibility, then keeps that team consistent.
Every Myxa Core Support service sits under a dedicated Core Support Manager who monitors staffing, shift consistency, and participant progress. Support Coordinators have one accountable point of contact, and participants do not fall through the cracks between reviews.
Core Support Workers receive thorough induction, participant-specific training, and ongoing professional supervision. Workers supporting participants with behaviours of concern receive specialist training in Ethical Response and behaviour support strategies, and have access to experienced management guidance during complex situations.
The Myxa Framework applies to every Core Support service regardless of intensity level: centralised rostering, Support Plan development, data recording, escalation protocols, incident management, and regular reviews. The same standards apply whether you receive a few hours per week or intensive daily support.
Myxa provides Core Support at both standard and high intensity levels. Whether a participant needs a few hours of support per week or intensive daily assistance, our systems and oversight are consistent across both levels.
For participants whose support needs do not require specialist high intensity funding. All the same Framework standards apply: consistent staffing, Support Plan implementation, data recording, and management oversight.
